About Us
Shonie Schwartz is a trained chef in the pastry arts. She was educated at the French Culinary Institute in Soho, NYC. Her family life and outgoing personality has led her to extend her career from solely catering pastries to catering and teaching all areas in the culinary world.
Shonie has a true passion for food, especially desserts. She began selling pastries from her home in 2004. Whether your needs are small or large, she will definetely satisfy your sweet tooth.
Not all her items are fancy desserts...many are the usual fare just made to perfection using only the finest ingredients. Shonie found her clientele wanted good-tasting, pretty food... "nothing too fancy". Of course, she enjoys making those fancy beautiful desserts as well.
Shonie also offers hands-on classes and "demos". She teaches all age groups. She is available for birthday parties, bat-mitzvahs, bridal showers, fundraisers, schools, and more. She created a Culinary Arts program at Manhattan HS for Girls. She also teaches courses at the Center for Kosher Culinary Arts in Brooklyn, NY and at the Cooking School of the 5 Towns JCC.
Shonie is also the owner and teacher for Balabusta Basics, a series of cooking classes for the bride-to-be. You can find out more information at: www.BalabustaBasics.com
The kitchen at Sweet Regrets is strictly kosher and most items are pareve.
Shonie resides in Woodmere with her husband and three children. She loves reading them the story, Marcel The Pastry Chef, by Marianna Mayer.
